The Resham Product Description

The Resham: Alabaster White Kora Dabka Jora on Pure Silk

The Editor's Note

There is a specific, quiet authority to wearing monochromatic white in a sea of embellished reds. The Resham is an exercise in restraint and light. Sculpted from luminescent Pure Silk, this three-piece Jora balances the fluidity of the fabric with the structured weight of authentic Kora Dabka embroidery. It catches the ambient light of a Nikkah ceremony or a formal evening soirée with a pearlescent glow rather than a glittery shout. While the sample is presented in a pristine Alabaster White, our atelier can render this silhouette in 35 custom shades to align with your specific palette. Sourced directly from our Lahore workshops and bypassing the traditional designer markup, this is unbranded luxury accessible via Free Worldwide Shipping to the UK, USA, and beyond.

The narrative of the Resham is defined by what is absent: the exorbitant label fee. You are investing solely in the 80g Pure Silk and the 150+ hours of hand-embellishment required to create the Kora and Dabka motifs. We utilize the same master craftsmen in the Mochi Gate district who supply Pakistan's top runway designers. By eliminating the marketing overhead, we deliver heirloom-quality formal wear directly to your door in New York, London, or Toronto, bridging the gap between the loom and the luxury consumer.

The Artisan's DNA (Technical Specifications)

This is not fast fashion; it is a meticulously constructed garment rooted in centuries-old South Asian techniques. The base is a premium Pure Silk, chosen for its superior drape and breathability compared to synthetic blends. The surface is hand-worked using the Kora Dabka technique—coiled wire threads that are cut and stitched to create raised, three-dimensional metallic reliefs. The embroidery is not merely applied; it is anchored into the weave, ensuring longevity for decades. Artisan Pledge: Crafted by the family of Ustad Bashir, 3rd generation Zardozi masters, ensuring ethical and authentic production.

  • Material: 100% Pure Silk (High-grade 80g weight for structure and sheen).
  • The Craft: Hand-embellished Kora Dabka (French wire) mixed with fine Zardozi and stone work.
  • The Components: A tailored silk shirt, matching silk trousers for a streamlined column silhouette, and a generous 3-yard silk dupatta finished with coordinating borders.

Shop Smarter

In the traditional luxury retail model, a silk Jora of this caliber passes from artisan to agent to designer to boutique, accumulating markups at every stage. At AÏNN London, we source the silk from the same textile mills as the "Grand Masters" of Pakistani fashion and utilize the same embroidery ateliers. The only difference is the tag on the collar. You receive the identical fabric weight, the same thread count, and the exact hand-embellishment quality for approximately 50% of the market price.

Stylist's Guide

  • Best For: Modern Nikkah ceremonies, engagement parties, or sophisticated Eid dinners where elegance supersedes excess.
  • Jewelry Pairing: The cool tones of the white and silver wirework pair exceptionally well with Polki or uncut diamonds set in white gold. Avoid heavy yellow gold to maintain the pristine aesthetic.
  • The Fit: Tailored specifically to allow movement while maintaining a sharp, structured profile.
