Pakistani Dress Size Chart & Measurement Guide

Getting the perfect fit is simple. Watch our video tutorial, then use the size chart below. Need custom sizing? We offer made-to-measure for the same price.

Quick Answer: Which Size Should I Order?

UK Size AÏNN Size Bust Waist Hip
6-8 Small 32-34" 26-28" 35-37"
10-12 Medium 35-37" 29-31" 38-40"
14-16 Large 38-40" 32-34" 41-43"
18+ Custom Made to your exact measurements

Between sizes? Order the larger size. Our 3-5 inch alteration margin means a tailor can easily take it in, but letting out is much harder.

Outside this range? No problem. Select "Custom Measurements" at checkout—same price, same timeline.

How to Measure Yourself (Step-by-Step)

What you'll need: A soft measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a helper. Wear the bra/undergarments you'll wear with your outfit.

1. Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level across your back. Don't pull tight—the tape should sit comfortably without digging in.

2. Waist

Measure at your natural waistline (the narrowest part, usually just above your belly button). Bend slightly to the side—where your body creases is your natural waist.

3. Hip

Measure around the widest part of your hips and bottom, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

4. Shoulder Width

Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other, across the back of your shoulders.

5. Blouse/Kameez Length

Measure from the top of your shoulder (where a seam would sit) down to where you want the blouse to end.

6. Arm Length

With your arm slightly bent, measure from your shoulder point down to your wrist bone.

7. Height

Your full height helps us adjust lengha and trouser lengths appropriately.

Common Measurement Mistakes to Avoid

  • Measuring over thick clothing — Always measure over thin clothing or undergarments only
  • Pulling the tape too tight — The tape should lay flat but not compress your body
  • Holding your breath or sucking in — Stand naturally and breathe normally
  • Measuring at the wrong time — Avoid measuring immediately after eating; morning measurements tend to be most accurate
  • Wrong bra — Measure in the bra you'll actually wear with the outfit (different bras can change bust measurement by 1-2 inches)
  • Solo measuring — If possible, have someone help for more accurate readings, especially for back measurements

Standard Sizing vs Custom: Which to Choose?

Choose Standard (S/M/L) If:

  • Your measurements fall clearly within one size
  • You want the fastest possible delivery (2-5 days stitching)
  • You're comfortable with minor alterations if needed

Choose Custom Measurements If:

  • You're between sizes or outside our standard range
  • You want a guaranteed perfect fit with no alterations
  • Your proportions are unusual (e.g., very long torso, narrow shoulders with wide hips)
  • You're ordering bridal wear where fit is critical

Custom adds approximately 1-2 weeks to production time.

Fit Expectations by Garment Type

Lehenga/Lengha

The blouse should fit snugly (but allow breathing). The skirt sits at your natural waist and should have enough room to move comfortably.

Sharara

Wide-leg trousers that flare from the hip. The kameez should fit comfortably through the bust and waist with ease for sitting.

Gharara

Fitted to the knee, then flares. Requires accurate knee-to-ankle measurements for proper proportions.

Anarkali/Maxi

Fitted at the bust, then flows freely. The key measurement is bust—the rest is designed with generous ease.

What If My Outfit Doesn't Fit?

Every AÏNN London garment includes 3-5 inches of alteration margin built into the seams. This means a local tailor can adjust the fit if needed.
