Farida Flame: Magenta & Orange Bridal Lehenga | AÏNN London

Farida Flame: Magenta & Orange Bridal Lehenga

Farida Flame is the embodiment of a Pakistani bride's dream—where tradition meets theatre in a symphony of magenta, orange, and gold. Inspired by the couture vision of Haris Shakeel, this bridal lehenga commands attention with its extraordinary colour story: the deep magenta of Mughal royalty meets the vibrant orange of marigold garlands and mehndi celebrations.

Every inch of this ensemble has been considered. The sweetheart neckline frames the face beautifully for photographs. The full sleeves—heavily embroidered from shoulder to wrist—create drama without revealing. The lehenga's orange border panel creates a stunning visual break that adds dimension and movement. And with two dupattas included—one magenta, one orange—you have the flexibility to style your look for different moments of your wedding day. This is not simply a bridal outfit; it is a statement of identity, crafted for the woman who knows her wedding day should be unforgettable.

👑 A Complete Bridal Ensemble 👑

This signature piece features 300+ hours of hand-embroidery, two contrast dupattas for versatile styling, and includes a matching embroidered potli bag. Designed for the bride who wants to honour tradition while making a contemporary statement.

This is Factory-Direct Luxury. We source the premium fabrics and commission the intricate hand-embroidery from the historic Mochi Gate ateliers in Lahore—the very same master craftsmen who create pieces for Pakistan's biggest designer labels and celebrity weddings. You receive bridal couture quality and the artisan lineage, but you bypass the designer markup that can add £5,000-£10,000 to a comparable piece.

The Artisan's DNA (Technical Specifications)

Farida Flame is constructed on a foundation of premium organza and raw silk, chosen for their ability to hold heavy embroidery while maintaining the fluidity essential for a bridal lehenga's movement. The magenta hue is achieved through traditional dyeing techniques, ensuring richness and consistency that will photograph beautifully in any lighting.

The choli (blouse) is a masterwork of bridal embroidery. The sweetheart neckline is framed with concentrated zardozi—Kora, Dabka, and pearls creating an ornate border that draws the eye upward. The bodice features dense floral and paisley motifs that cascade downward, with the embroidery intensifying at the waist where the choli meets the lehenga. The full sleeves are equally spectacular: heavy embroidered cuffs transition into climbing floral patterns that extend to the shoulder, ensuring drama from every angle.

The lehenga tells its own story. The magenta base is covered with scattered sequins and floral motifs, but the true innovation lies in the orange contrast panel at the hem—a bold design choice that references the traditional colour blocking of heritage bridal wear while feeling thoroughly contemporary. The border features the densest embroidery of the ensemble: intricate paisley and floral patterns that add weight, movement, and visual impact.

Two dupattas complete the ensemble. The primary magenta dupatta features all-over sequin work with a wide zardozi border that mirrors the lehenga's embroidery. The contrast orange dupatta offers styling flexibility—wear it over the head during the nikah ceremony, drape it across the shoulder for the reception, or use it as a photography prop that catches the light against the magenta ensemble.

Artisan Pledge: Crafted by the family of Ustad Bashir, 3rd generation Zardozi masters, ensuring ethical and authentic production. This bridal ensemble represents over 300 hours of cumulative hand-embellishment across all pieces.
  • Material: Premium Organza & Raw Silk (Choli, Lehenga), Fine Net & Organza (Dupattas)
  • The Craft: Heavy hand-embellished Zardozi, Kora, Dabka, Resham, Pearls, Mukaish Sequins, and Stone work
  • The Components: 5-Piece Set (Fully Embroidered Choli, Bridal Lehenga with Contrast Border, Magenta Sequin Dupatta, Orange Embroidered Dupatta, Matching Potli Bag)

The "Smart Shopper" Insight

A bridal lehenga of this calibre—with 300+ hours of hand-embroidery, two dupattas, contrast colour blocking, and this density of zardozi work—typically retails at £8,000-£15,000 in designer flagship stores and trunk shows. At AÏNN London, we operate on an unbranded, direct-to-consumer model. You are paying for bridal couture craftsmanship without the bridal industry markup—investing in the fabric, the 300+ hours of Karigar skill, and the heirloom quality, not the rental costs of Mayfair showrooms, fashion week appearances, or celebrity brand ambassador fees.

Stylist's Guide

Best For

Your Baraat ceremony—this is unequivocally a main-event bridal piece. The colour combination and embroidery density are designed for the bride who wants to be the undisputed centre of attention. Also suitable for brides wanting a statement nikah look, or as a reception outfit if you're changing from a red baraat lehenga.

Jewelry Pairing

This ensemble calls for statement bridal jewelry. A traditional Kundan or Polki set with a choker, long rani haar, and matching jhumkas (as shown) creates the full bridal look. The magenta and gold palette pairs beautifully with pearls, Kundan, and uncut diamonds. For a contemporary twist, layer multiple necklaces of varying lengths. Gold matha patti and passa complete the traditional bridal aesthetic. Stacked gold bangles or statement kadas are essential.

Dupatta Styling

For the Ceremony: Drape the magenta dupatta over your head, with the orange dupatta across your arms or pinned at one shoulder for colour contrast in photographs.

For the Reception: Wear the magenta dupatta pinned at one shoulder and cascading down your back, leaving the orange dupatta aside or draped across both arms.

For Photography: Use both dupattas together for dramatic movement shots—the colour contrast creates stunning visual impact.

The Fit

The choli is tailored for a structured, fitted silhouette—shaped at the bust with the heavy embroidery providing additional structure. The lehenga sits at the natural waist with a drawstring and hooks for adjustable fit, flaring into a full circle (kali) cut that creates beautiful movement. Best worn with 3-4 inch heels to balance the visual weight and ensure the lehenga hem falls correctly. We recommend a final fitting 2-3 weeks before your event.

Hair & Makeup

The sweetheart neckline and rich colours call for a polished, elegant look. A sleek center-parted bun or soft waves pulled back showcase the neckline beautifully. Fresh flowers (roses, jasmine gajra) complement the traditional aesthetic. Makeup should lean warm—rose and berry tones for lips, warm gold and burgundy for eyes, with a luminous base that catches the embroidery's sparkle.

Common Questions (AÏNN Concierge)

Can I get this in traditional red instead of magenta?
Absolutely. We can create this design in traditional bridal red, deep maroon, or any colour combination you prefer. Popular alternatives include: red with orange contrast, maroon with gold contrast, or emerald green with pink contrast. We'll work with you to find the perfect palette for your vision. Customization does not extend the timeline.
Can I remove the orange contrast and have all magenta?
Yes. While the orange contrast is a signature element that adds dimension and references traditional colour blocking, we can create a fully magenta lehenga if you prefer a monochromatic look. We can also substitute the orange for another contrast colour—gold, silver, or a deeper burgundy are popular alternatives.
Do I really need two dupattas?
The two-dupatta tradition is deeply rooted in Pakistani bridal wear, offering both practical and aesthetic benefits. For photography alone, the colour contrast creates stunning images. During the ceremony, you can drape one over your head while the other adds colour at your shoulder or arms. If you prefer a single dupatta, we can omit the orange and adjust the price accordingly—simply let us know when ordering.
How heavy is this ensemble?
The complete ensemble has significant weight due to the density of embroidery—this is true of all authentic bridal lehengas at this level. The choli and lehenga together weigh approximately 8-10kg. However, the weight is distributed across your body and the lehenga's structure is designed to carry the embroidery comfortably. We recommend wearing it for an hour during your final fitting to ensure comfort before your event.
Can I customize the neckline or sleeve length?
Yes. We offer customization at no extra charge: neckline shape (sweetheart as shown, round, V-neck, or more modest high neck), sleeve length (full as shown, three-quarter, or elbow-length), and choli length can all be adjusted. The sweetheart neckline shown photographs beautifully, but we understand modesty preferences vary. Simply note your preferences when ordering.
Why does this take 8-10 weeks?
Farida Flame features over 300 hours of hand-embroidery—this is a true bridal couture piece that cannot be rushed. The timeline includes: fabric sourcing and dyeing (1 week), cutting and construction (1 week), hand-embroidery across all pieces (5-6 weeks), quality control and finishing (1 week), and shipping (3-5 days). Each piece is made to order with your specific measurements to ensure perfect fit.
What if I need alterations after delivery?
We create each piece to your exact measurements, so major alterations are rarely needed. However, we recommend a final fitting 2-3 weeks before your event. Minor adjustments (taking in seams, hemming) can be done by any skilled tailor. For significant changes, please contact us immediately upon delivery—we're committed to ensuring your bridal look is perfect.
Do you ship internationally in time for my wedding?
We specialise in serving brides in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. We recommend ordering at least 12-14 weeks before your event to allow for production (8-10 weeks), shipping (3-5 days), and time for any final adjustments. Rush orders may be possible depending on our artisans' schedule—please contact us to discuss. All orders ship free via DHL Express with full tracking.
