The short answer: yes — far more than most shoppers realise. On made-to-order Pakistani clothes you can customise the colour, the measurements, the sleeves, the neckline, the lengths and the modesty details. Customisation is not a premium add-on in this tradition; it is how the tradition has always worked. Here is exactly what can change, and how to ask for it.
Colour: the biggest customisation of all
Love a design but not its pictured colour? On any made-to-order AÏNN London piece you can choose from over 900 hand-dyed shades in our custom colour library — every family from ivories and blushes through jewel tones to deep bridal reds. Select the Custom Colour option on the product page and reference your chosen shade. Unsure what suits you? Our free colour season analyser narrows the field, and our guide to traditional bridal colours covers the meanings behind each family.
Fit: made to your measurements as standard
Every made-to-order outfit is stitched to your submitted measurements — chest, shoulders, sleeves, waist, hips and lengths — with a 3–5 inch alteration margin sewn in. Follow the eight-step measuring guide and the fit question disappears before it exists.
Design details you can change
- Sleeves: lengthen, shorten, or line sheer sleeves for coverage.
- Necklines: raise or reshape for comfort and modesty.
- Lengths: kameez, trouser and skirt lengths cut to you — including heel allowance on floor-length pieces.
- Modesty adaptations: linings added, coverage increased, and free matching hijabs available on product pages.
- Trouser and bottom styles: discussed case by case against the design’s construction.
Some things honest ateliers will not promise: changing a design’s core embroidery layout mid-production, or compressing genuine handwork below its natural timeline — made-to-order takes 6–10 weeks, as our production timeline explains stage by stage.
How to communicate your vision clearly
- Start from an existing design in the collection rather than a blank page — adaptations brief better than inventions.
- Book a video consultation via the booking page and bring reference images.
- Confirm changes in writing before production begins — colour reference, measurement set, and each agreed adaptation.
- Use the checkpoints: progress photos and videos on request during production, and a final approval video of your actual outfit before dispatch. Nothing ships without your yes.
Frequently asked questions
Does customisation cost extra?
Custom colour and made-to-measure sizing are included on made-to-order pieces at AÏNN London. Structural design changes are quoted case by case — ask in your consultation.
Can I customise a ready-to-ship outfit?
Ready-to-ship pieces dispatch as made, in days — the trade-off for speed. For full customisation, choose made-to-order.
Can I see my outfit before it ships?
Yes — every order receives a video of the finished piece for your approval before dispatch, and progress updates are available throughout on request.
What if my customisation idea is unusual?
Ask — pockets in a lehenga, combined silhouettes, unexpected colour pairings: if construction allows it, we will tell you honestly; if it does not, we will tell you that too.
